Turn low-grade iron ore into premium products
FeCycle partners with iron ore asset owners to transform suitable stockpiles, tailings, sub-specification run-of-mine material and iron-bearing by-products through fully funded, on-site beneficiation facilities.
We bring together capital, testwork, technology, project delivery, operations, product marketing and offtake capability—helping partners unlock stranded value, reduce liabilities and accelerate cash flow without diverting capital from core mining operations.
An overlooked resource. A growing supply challenge.
Vast volumes of iron remain locked in low-grade stockpiles, tailings and other material that has already been mined. Much of it was set aside when recovery technology, product requirements or economics were different.
At the same time, average ore grades are declining, higher-grade feedstock is increasingly important to lower-emissions steelmaking, and conventional new iron ore projects can take many years to permit, finance and build.
FeCycle connects these two realities: recovering more value from existing material while creating a new source of premium iron units.
Stranded value
Convert underutilised material and long-term liabilities into saleable products and shared cash flow.
Higher-grade supply
Upgrade suitable feedstock to asset-specific target specifications for blending and lower-emissions steel pathways.
Circular mining
Recover more from material already mined while reducing waste volumes and supporting progressive remediation.
One partner. A complete delivery model.
Under FeCycle’s primary Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model, the asset owner contributes suitable feedstock, site access, permits, infrastructure and logistics. FeCycle develops and funds the beneficiation facility and coordinates the full route from testwork to operations and product sales.
Partner asset. Existing low-grade iron ore, stockpiles, tailings, sub-specification run-of-mine material or iron-bearing by-products at an operating, idled or legacy site.
FeCycle facility. A site-specific, modular beneficiation plant developed through sampling, metallurgical testwork, flowsheet design, engineering, funding, construction and commissioning.
Shared outcomes. Premium iron ore products produced to agreed specifications, new revenue, reduced waste volumes, potential mine-life extension and a practical route to remediation.
Unlock value without competing for core mining capital
No processing-plant capital outlay from the asset owner under the primary fully funded BOO structure.
A turnkey route from initial screening and testwork through financing, construction, commissioning, operations and product marketing.
A faster path to revenue than a conventional new mine development, targeting approximately 15 months from Final Investment Decision (FID) to first revenue.
Facilities designed to sit alongside existing operations and leverage established power, water, transport and port infrastructure.
Site-specific flowsheets using proven equipment rather than a one-size-fits-all technology.
Potential to reduce tailings and closure pressure, extend mine life, improve product blending and create local economic value.
Timing and product outcomes are asset-specific and subject to testwork, partner approvals, permitting, financing, site readiness and execution.

High-throughput reprocessing already works at scale
The SIMEC wet-processing operation in South Australia provides a relevant independent third-party analogue for large-scale upgrading of low-grade iron ore.
Approximately 950 tonnes per hour nameplate capacity
Approximately 2.85 million tonnes per annum of higher-grade product
More than 45% estimated yield
Less than six months estimated capital payback
Important context: SIMEC is not a FeCycle project. All figures above are FeCycle management estimates based on publicly available information. They have not been independently verified by FeCycle and do not indicate or guarantee the performance of any FeCycle opportunity.
Specialist capability across the full project lifecycle
FeCycle assembles the capability each project needs across resource screening, testwork, flowsheet design, equipment, EPC delivery, tailings and materials handling, operations, financing, product marketing and offtake.
Our strategic collaboration with Fraser Alexander strengthens the platform with more than a century of experience in mineral processing, tailings management, mining and re-mining, water treatment and operational delivery.
Have low-grade iron ore that could be doing more?
If you own or advise on a substantial stockpile, tailings resource, sub-specification run-of-mine stream or iron-bearing by-product, FeCycle can provide an initial confidential assessment of its potential fit.
