WHAT WE LOOK FOR
What makes an iron ore opportunity suitable?
Grade matters, but it is only one part of the answer. FeCycle assesses mineralogy, volume, consistency, infrastructure, logistics, permitting, product quality, waste outcomes and partner alignment together.

Priority asset profile
Material already mined or generated at an existing operation, legacy site or logistics hub.
Initial preference for more than 10 million tonnes of accessible feedstock, with larger 20–40 million tonne opportunities particularly attractive.
Typical feed grade between approximately 35% and 58% Fe, subject to mineralogy, contaminants and liberation characteristics.
Hematite and oxidised material are an initial focus, while magnetite and other iron-bearing materials are assessed case by case.
A consistent feed profile capable of supporting at least five years of operations.
Existing or achievable access to power, water, effluent management, roads, rail and/or port.
A credible permitting route and an asset owner able to support local approvals and community engagement.
Clear title, ownership, material access and a commercial structure that aligns feedstock, facility and product rights.
FeCycle will consider stockpiles, tailings, sub-specification run-of-mine material, stranded or port-side ore, low-grade caps within existing permitted operations and iron-bearing by-products. FeCycle does not pursue greenfield exploration projects.
Initial information we request
Location, ownership and current operating status.
Estimated tonnage, grade range and basis of estimate.
Assay data, mineralogy, particle-size distribution and known deleterious elements.
How and when the material was generated or deposited.
Stockpile, tailings facility or site surveys and available 3D models.
Existing licences, permits, environmental obligations and closure provisions.
Power, water, effluent, waste-handling and site-space availability.
Distance and cost to road, rail, port and target markets.
Current product portfolio, blending requirements and offtake arrangements.
The partner’s preferred commercial structure and strategic objectives.
If the full data set is not yet available, submit what you have. FeCycle can identify the minimum work needed to reach an informed next decision.
